Estera, a global leader in corporate, funds and trust services, has announced the launch of legal services in Cayman Islands and Bermuda. Estera Law will provide legal services in Bermuda and the Cayman Islands which are aligned to clients’ individual objectives and preferences. Estera’s legal services will cover a number of practice areas such as corporate and commercial, regulatory, insurance and investment funds.
The provision of legal services is in response to demands by clients for tailored solutions to support their strategic and operational priorities in the face of rapidly evolving regulatory, jurisdictional and market environments. This important, strategic development gives clients the option of a one-stop-shop for legal, corporate and fiduciary services.
Providing legal services will enable Estera to broaden and deepen relationships with clients in the Americas, Bermuda, the Cayman Islands and Hong Kong.

Estera already has impressive legal credentials with key members of the team having many decades of legal experience. In Bermuda, Alison Dyer-Fagundo will lead the legal team as Managing Partner of Estera Law (Bermuda) Limited. Alison was a former partner of a global offshore law firm and has extensive experience in private equity transactions, derivatives, public and private company M&A activity, equity and debt markets, corporate governance, and partnerships in relation to both their formation and on-going transactions. Alison was recommended by IFLR1000 and Legal 500 Caribbean where she was commended for being ‘extremely responsive and practical.’ Chambers Global named Alison a ‘Leader in her Field’’, noting ‘her significant experience in debt and equity financings and securities offerings and listings’.

In the Cayman Islands, Estera has entered into a business affiliation relationship with U Law Limited which has been renamed as Estera Law (Cayman) Limited. Kendra Foster will be leading the legal team as Managing Partner. Kendra has extensive experience in the Cayman Islands financial services industry and was the founding principal of U Law Limited. Prior to founding the firm, Kendra worked for a prominent offshore law firm in the Cayman Islands and served as the Deputy Compliance Director of a multi-national corporate service provider. Kendra has expertise in financial services, investment funds, and general corporate commercial practice areas and specialises in regulatory, licensing, risk management and information disclosure matters.

On 19 July it was announced that Inflexion Private Equity will acquire Estera, subject to regulatory approval. Following completion, Estera will be merged with Inflexion’s existing portfolio company, Ocorian, to form a global corporate service and fund administration leader of significant scale. The combined business will be a major global player with offices in 18 key offshore and onshore jurisdictions, over 1,250 employees and serve over 8,000 clients.
