Ogier announces seven promotions in Cayman Islands team

Ogier has announced the promotion of seven people in its Cayman Islands team as part of its latest round of global promotions.

James Lydeard and Gemma Lardner have become managing associate in Banking and Finance and Dispute Resolution, respectively. Jessica Crawford, Michael Robinson, Rebecca Findlay and Ridhiima Kapoor have been promoted to senior associate in Funds, Corporate, Dispute Resolution and Corporate/Funds, respectively and Brad Conolly becomes associate director for Ogier Global.

Cayman Practice Partner, James Bergstrom said: “Each of these individuals has contributed to Ogier’s success in Cayman and we are delighted to be able to recognise their commitment and hard work. I look forward to seeing them develop in their new roles.”

James Lydeard is a key member of Ogier’s fund finance practice and LatAm practice, which spans both regulatory and transactional matters with a particular focus on Brazil. He joined Ogier in 2015 and is known for his pragmatic advice and for prioritising client goals.

Gemma Lardner is a restructuring and insolvency specialist who joined Ogier two years ago. She has worked on a number of high-profile matters and is a gifted litigator who provides excellent client relationship management.

Jessica Crawford joined the team in 2017. She has become a core member of the investment funds group and has a reputation as a particularly strong technical lawyer, advising on both hedge fund and private equity fund launches.

Michael Robinson transferred across from the Jersey Corporate team in 2018. His work includes corporate, finance and funds work and he has made a significant impact in helping to build the firm’s fintech, blockchain and cryptocurrency services, and to growing its equity capital markets practice area (IPOs and SPACs in particular).

Rebecca Findlay has been involved in many of Ogier’s high profile insolvency and trusts matters including Abraaj where her attention to detail, strong technical skills, and high-quality work product has been praised by fellow team members and clients.

Ridhiima Kapoor joined Ogier as an articled clerk and continues to be a key member of the team, primarily focusing on funds and corporate work. She has been instrumental in the development of Ogier’s precedents and process maps for terminations and continuations and works with many of the team’s key clients.

Brad Conolly leads the corporate team at Ogier Global and has overseen its growth from a two-person team to a team of ten in just over two years.

Director of Ogier Global in Cayman, Fiona Barrie, said: “Brad has brought enthusiasm and energy to his role and has been instrumental in the team’s growth and success. His promotion is deserved recognition of his hard work and his value to the business.”
