Mourant welcomes two new Caymanian Associates

Leading legal and governance services firm Mourant is proud to announce two new Caymanian Associates, David Ramsaran and Rejonté Rivers in the Litigation department and Finance and Corporate department respectively. They have completed their Articles of Clerkship and were called to the Cayman Islands Bar before the Hon. Justice Margaret Ramsay-Hale on 1 April 2021.

David Ramsaran was the 2018 Chantal Whittaker Memorial Scholarship recipient and completed his LPC at the University of Law in London with Commendation. David completed four consecutive summer internships with the firm and started his Articles in September 2019. He recently completed a secondment to the Grand Court and Summary Court of the Cayman Islands, gaining valuable inside into the Cayman Islands judicial process.

David commented: “I am excited to be admitted as an attorney and to join Mourant as an associate. Being a recipient of Mourant’s Chantal Whittaker Memorial Scholarship and the opportunity to complete my Articles of Clerkship with the firm, I am truly grateful for the support that they have given me over the years. I look forward to continuing to develop my skills with the fantastic Mourant team.”

Rejonté Rivers originally joined the firm in January 2015 as a Corporate Administrator in Mourant Governance Services (previously Mourant Ozannes Corporate Services). She progressed to Client Services Manager on the governance team while simultaneously completing the Graduate Diploma in Law at BPP University. She transferred to the law firm as a Paralegal in October 2018 and became an Articled Clerk in September 2019.  

Rejonté commented: “I am thrilled to have completed this stage of my legal education and training. It has been a long road and I have gained so much knowledge and experience along the way. I am excited to return to the finance and corporate team in my new Associate capacity and to see how my skills compliment the team. I look forward to continuing to work with everyone at Mourant, which has been my home for the last six years.”
